What We Do For Our Clubs

Sustainability Services

Sustainability Services

Driving Sustainability in European Football Football has the power to inspire change on and off the pitch. Our Sustainability team helps clubs turn that power into action — giving them the tools, knowledge and networks to build a stronger future for the game, players and fans.

Supporting Clubs with Regulations > the Sustainability Toolkit

Clubs receive clear guidance on meeting EU sustainability rules and UEFA licensing requirements, including webinars with UEFA and expert partners. On EFC Campus. members have access to the recordings and materials covering these topics.

ECA Sustainability Roadshow

Through our in-person Sustainability Roadshow with UEFA, we bring knowledge directly to clubs. The first edition in 2024/25 visited Ireland, Netherlands, Italy, Romania and Austria, with the next tour planned for 2025/26.

Access to European Projects

Members benefit from access to EU-funded initiatives such as FREE KICKS, opening doors to resources that support real change in football.

Global Alliance for Climate Action

Through the Football Clubs Alliance for Climate, clubs join a worldwide network to fight climate change together and protect the future of the game.

Education for Football Leaders   The Sustainability in Football Compact Course (Link), developed with SDA Bocconi and UEFA, gives club leaders the know-how to bring sustainability into the everyday running of football.   Club-Focused Advisory   From building sustainability strategies to sharing best practices, our team works side-by-side with clubs to create plans that match their ambitions on and off the pitch.    Panels and Working Groups   Clubs can take part in specialist teams tackling key issues via The Working Group:

  • CSRD Task Force: preparing clubs for new European reporting standards.

  • Sustainable Venue Panel: improving the way stadiums are built and run.

  • ED&I Panel: promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in football.

EFC Women on Board Programme  As part of our plan for gender equality in football, EFC has put together a programme made just for clubs..."  Learning From Each Other

Sustainability-focused academy visits give clubs the chance to share experiences and see how other clubs are driving change at the youth level on key topics such as safeguarding and dual career

Raising Football’s Voice Globally

We advocate for European clubs on global platforms, ensuring football leads the way in shaping sustainability policy and action.
