Mr. Al-Khelaïfi is a leading figure in European and international football, as well as the global sports, media and entertainment industries.

Mr. Al-Khelaïfi has served as President of Paris Saint-Germain Football Club since 2011, following his appointment as Chairman of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) and its acquisition of the club in the same year. As President of Paris Saint-Germain, Mr. Al-Khelaïfi also sits on the Board of the French Professional Football League (LFP).

A Board Member of European Football Clubs (EFC) since 2016, Mr. Al-Khelaïfi was elected Chairman in April 2021 and under his chairmanship, EFC has more than trebled in size, today representing over 800 men’s and women’s clubs of all sizes across Europe. Since December 2024, Mr. Al-Khelaïfi has also served as Chairman of the EFC Foundation.

Under Mr. Al-Khelaïfi’s leadership, EFC has strengthened its governance, inclusivity and solidarity framework, introducing enhanced solidarity provisions that benefit clubs competing in European club competitions. Mr. Al-Khelaïfi has also led EFC’s advocacy on behalf of European football clubs at the highest levels of football governance. Mr. Al-Khelaïfi is EFC’s representative on the UEFA Executive Committee, becoming the first leader from Asia to hold a senior UEFA position, and since October 2025, Mr. Al-Khelaïfi has represented EFC on the FIFA Council.

Outside of football, Mr. Al-Khelaïfi is President of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation (QTF), overseeing Qatar’s two largest annual professional tennis tournaments on the ATP and WTA Tours. Mr. Al-Khelaïfi is also Chairman of Premier Padel, the world’s leading official professional padel tour. A former world-ranked professional tennis player, Mr. Al-Khelaïfi represented Qatar in the Davis Cup.

In addition, Mr. Al-Khelaïfi is a global ambassador for the Youth Sports Games (YSG), an initiative founded in 1996 to enable children to participate in organised sport and free physical activities. Mr. Al-Khelaïfi is also a Member Friend of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety.

Alongside his leading roles within sport, Mr. Al-Khelaïfi is Group Chairman of beIN MEDIA GROUP, the international sports, media and entertainment group operating in more than 40 countries worldwide. Mr. Al-Khelaïfi led beIN’s acquisitions of MIRAMAX, which holds one of the most extensive portfolios of international award-winning films, and Digiturk, Türkiye’s leading sports and entertainment platform. Under Mr. Al-Khelaïfi’s leadership, beIN MEDIA GROUP has grown into a major global media organisation.

Mr. Al-Khelaïfi has been widely recognised for his leadership and contribution to football, receiving the Best Club President award (Golden Boy Awards – Tuttosport, 2025), the Best Executive award (World Football Summit Awards, 2025), and the President of the Year award (Globe Soccer Awards, 2025).
