Peter Lawwell is an experienced football executive with more than two decades of senior leadership in European football. He joined Celtic FC as Chief Executive in 2003 and later served as the club’s Non-Executive Chairman from January 2023 until stepping down in December 2025. He also acted as a Trustee of the Celtic FC Foundation for much of his time at the club.
Prior to his career in football administration, Peter held senior positions at Clydeport, ICI, Hoffmann-La Roche and Mining Scotland. During his tenure at Celtic, the club won 38 major trophies (17 league championships, 11 Scottish Cups and 10 League Cups) and qualified for the group stage of European competitions in all but two seasons.
Peter has served on the Boards of the Scottish Professional Football League and the Scottish FA, as well as numerous domestic sub-committees and working groups. At European level, he has represented Celtic FC on various UEFA committees.
He currently serves as a Independent Board member at EFC.
